LUC Staff and Key Contacts
Rev. Jope Langejans: BA, BTh, MDiv Church office: 403-242-5760 Cell: 403-831-2117 email: email@example.com
Rev Jope is currently on Sabbatical from May 6-August 6, 2019.
Jope is presently the minister at Lakeview United Church and warmly welcomes all into the presence of Christ. His background has been in the Food & Beverage sector for many years in Calgary and beyond and he has made countless friends and acquaintances throughout his career. In middle age, he decided to answer a call into ministry in The United Church of Canada and entered into the ‘In Community Program for Ordination’ (ICPO) and moved to Elk Point (6 years) where his studies and daily ministry became one. Upon ordination, Jope was placed in Forestburg, AB. where he resided for eight years and then answered a call to Lakeview United Church where he now practises his ministry.
Jope is energetic, humorous, not afraid of change, somewhat flamboyant, and deeply grounded in the Spirit. On a normal Sunday, you can always expect the unexpected. On a not-so-normal Sunday, you can expect even bigger things.
So come and be welcomed, come and be nurtured, come and be loved!!
We welcome Rev. Kelley Warner who takes over as pulpit supply while Rev. Jope is on a three month Sabbatical (May 6 - August 6, 2019! ) Rev. John Crowdis will cover pastoral needs when Rev. Jope is away.

Rev. Kelley Warner Church Office: 403 242-5760
Reverend Kelley Warner has a wonderful and supportive family with her partner Jeff, and four grown children Kristen, Bryce, Sean and Trevor. Kelley has had mysterious encounters with God her entire life. The whisper of Spirit has led to her becoming a junior high drama teacher, then a stay-at-home mom, and a youth leader in the UCC. She went on to become recognized as a Staff Associate in 2006 as she continued coordinating children and youth ministries for her home congregation at Lakeview United Church in Calgary. After a time of formal discernment, she entered into the diaconal ministry program at the Centre for Christian Studies. Her field placements have included: serving different church communities, assisting the chaplain at the Calgary Young Offenders Centre and working at a social service agency helping to facilitate education sessions. She graduated in 2015 and went on to serve the congregation at St. David’s United Church until August 2018.
Kelley’s love for diaconal ministry is firmly embedded in her heart and spirit. As part of the diaconate she feels called to education, social justice and pastoral care. She particularly feels called to: catch the stories of people, to encourage and empower others to share their gifts, to hear the voices from the margins, to stand in solidarity with the oppressed, to invite the privileged to care and to work together in the hopes of transforming the world into God’s Shalom where everyone is valued and everyone has enough. Kelley is presently working towards a Master of Theological Studies in Diaconal Ministry through St. Stephens College.

Summer Student, Community Engagement:
Avery McLellan Church Office: 403-242-5760
I am currently entering my second year at Mount Royal University pursuing a Communications degree with a major in Public Relations. I grew up attending Southwood United Church and it is my honour and privilege to be able to serve the congregation of Lakeview United Church this summer.
I am hoping to be able to assist the staff and volunteers at Lakeview in many capacities this summer, such as community relations, specific activities for defined groups as well as the general needs of the parishioners.
In my spare time I like to read, volunteer and hang out with friends.
