Lakeview United Church chose to celebrate the 100th Anniversary in part by "reaching out". We set out to purchase and fill 100 backpacks to support the vulnerable population to be distributed by Central United Church.
We have approximately 28 remaining backpacks and they will be filled in the fall with winter essentials. Please note that Lakeview UC will be supplying the water bottles for each back pack. Special thanks to everyone who has generously filled spring backpacks for distribution.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study will start on Wednesday October 22 at 10am. We will be studying the Book of Joshua. Everyone is to welcome to join - meeting in the Upper Hall.
We would like to continue with this important time of fellowship but we need volunteers. Sign up sheets for the fall are in the narthex.

The United Church of Canada has joyously installed the Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath as its 45th Moderator at Knox United Church in Calgary. Elected after three ballots at the 45th Last night, The United Church of Canada joyously installed the Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath as its 45th Moderator at Knox United Church in Calgary. Elected after three ballots at the 45th General Council (August 7–11), Rev. Heath is a long-time minister who has served Wall Street United Church in Brockville, Ontario since 2007.
The installation ceremony, which was livestreamed, included prayers in English, French, and Stoney Nakoda. Rev. Heath received several symbolic gifts and delivered a heartfelt reflection, encouraging the church to embrace its diversity and "bring out all of the flavours, all of the goodness." As the spiritual leader of the United Church, she will now serve a three-year term.
Congratulations to the Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath, the 45th Moderator of The United Church of Canada!
The "Blue Clothing Bin" in the Lakeview UC parking has been successful so far! We have had several loads picked up already. Please consider dropping in your good used clothing, shoes/boots, outerwear, linens and towels. All donations will be weighed and we will be paid per pound for the donations. This is a "green initiative" as all donations will be repurposed and nothing will go into landfill. PLACE ALL ITEMS IN A BAG AND PUSH THE DOOR UP TO DEPOSIT. Thank you for supporting this ongoing Lakeview UC fundraiser! New Total revenue to date is $722.00!!
Did you know that Lakeview United Church has partnered with Forte Music Studio to offer a FREE 30 minutes of music instruction for children ages 3–8 during our inspiring Sunday service?
While you enjoy the service, the children will have fun learning songs, movement, simple instruments, and the basics of music reading. Help us spread the word! We’d be thrilled to have them join us!
Everyone is welcome here.
