We have a Food Bank box in the narthex and would like to fill it in response to the Food Bank's April Food Drive:

At the Calgary Food Bank, we are currently distributing over 900 Emergency Food Hampers a day, and providing food to over 80 charities throughout Calgary. Your involvement to support these initiatives is greatly appreciated!

We are our holding our First Annual Spring into Action Food Drive from April 19 - 25, 2026.

Lakeview Fun Days is Saturday, May 23

We are looking for 4 volunteers to help run the Lakeview United Church Flags of Peace booth from 10:45 to 3:00 ( 2 hour shifts).

(Volunteers get to see all the fun activities at Lakeview Fun Days plus, perhaps, taste the juicy, delicious hamburgers and hot dogs).

Do you sew?  We need volunteers to cut and sew 150 flags for Fun Day (very simple sewing project).

Please see Janet Layton for details or contact the Office at 403.242.5760

Are you thinking about becoming a member of Lakeview United Church? Please contact Rev. Jope 403-242-5760

The Central United Church Hub is distributing used warm clothing to the homeless. Their wish list includes: adult clothing, coats and shoes, blankets, hand warmers and sleeping bags. Your outreach committee has placed a black bin in the Narthex for such items. PLEASE ENSURE THEY ARE CLEAN, NEW OR GENTLY USED AND IN GOOD CONDITION.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study - will resume in October

Friday Faith Journey Study Group - our new book  is "The Gift of Years" by Joan Chittister.

Coffee and Fellowship time for 2026 are on the  bulletin board in the Narthex.  So far we only have a few spots filled. Consider asking a friend or two to help you fill a spot.

We are looking for Sunday Scripture Readers. You can volunteer through the website here  Volunteer Opportunities and scroll down to the Sunday you prefer. Thank you!!

The "Blue Clothing Bin"  in the Lakeview UC parking has been successful so far! We have had several loads picked up already. Please consider dropping in your good used clothing, shoes/boots, outerwear, linens and towels. All donations will be weighed and we will be paid per pound for the donations. This is a "green initiative"  as all donations will be repurposed and nothing will go into landfill.  PLACE  ALL ITEMS IN A BAG AND PUSH THE DOOR UP TO DEPOSIT. Thank you for supporting this ongoing Lakeview UC fundraiser! Total for 2026 so far is $193.00.

Did you know that Lakeview United Church has partnered with Forte Music Studio to offer a FREE 30 minutes of music instruction for children ages 3–8 during our inspiring Sunday service?

While you enjoy the service, the children will have fun learning songs, movement, simple instruments, and the basics of music reading. Help us spread the word! We’d be thrilled to have them join us!

Everyone is welcome here.
