A Sincere Thank you to our Guest Speaker:

On March 24 , after service we were treated to an informative presentation by Attorney Jason Sweeney of Underwood Gilholme.  An appreciative audience found many questions answered ! Jason has 22 years experience in Estates, Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Personal Directives. He assists and advises clients on the many issues that arise regarding the preparation of their estate planning documents. Jason also advises executors and trustees on the myriad of concerns that may arise surrounding the administration of estates and trusts. We encourage you to seek him out should you have need for these specialized services.

Lenten Project at Lakeview:

March 10 to April 11: This year we have decided to go with a Rainbow theme for Lenten giving.  During the six weeks of Lent a bin will be put out at the altar of a specific color.  The fourth week of Lent will be Green.  You, the congregation, are encouraged to bring something of that color.  The charities we will be collecting will be The Food Bank, Children’s Cottage, downtown ministries such as the Mustard Seed, Drop In Center.  As the weeks progress the color will change.  At the end of Lent there will be a rainbow of gifts collected to go the these worthwhile organizations.  Opportunity is wide open, use your imagination.  Colors will be red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.  Example for red: pasta, tomato soup, tooth brush, towel, socks, hoodie, children PJ’s.  See the Narthex for extended lists of suggestions.  Questions, please talk to Daryl, Lesley or members of the Rejuvenation Task Force.

Coffee and Conversation Hosts are needed in the next few weeks:

Please Sign Up online or in the Narthex to volunteer as a Coffee and Conversation Host after the Sunday Worship Service.

Lakeview United Church Kids and Youth (LUCKY) Club

Are you looking for programs that help you to teach your children to be confident, caring and mindful individuals?

The Lakeview United Church Kids and Youth program runs every Sunday during the 10:00 service.  The children re-enact stories, share cooperative games, sing inspirational songs and do activities to support others such as Birthday boxes for the Food Bank.  Each month may centre around a theme such as January "Let My light shine" with children decorating dye-cut little houses with battery operated tea-lights inside.

For the little ones, under 2 years old, there is a play area in the sanctuary so that parents can participate in the service without worrying about being separated from their child.  Come and check it out!

Join the Fun!

Call Janet with any questions (403) 797-4075
